Working one-on-one with a writer is the best way to improve skills. I am available to come to your house or meet at a library or café and help with grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and composition. I have taught ACT and SAT essay writing workshops and have twenty years experience teaching both English composition and creative writing at the college level. I can be a tutor to a high school student or a writing coach to an adult who is embarking on manuscripts of poetry, nonfiction, or fiction. Online options are available.

Editing
Do you have a manuscript or article that needs some housecleaning? My proofreading services include correcting problems with grammar, spelling, and punctuation. My editing services will extend the critique by removing awkward language, correcting passive voice, and commenting on problems such as shifts of points of view or problems in logic. I may also provide the writer with commentary that may include revision suggestions.
